The Fire and the Moth: Taiwo Egunjobi’s Boldest Film Yet Lands on Prime Video

Taiwo Egunjobi returns with his new feature, The Fire and the Moth, a gripping crime thriller set in a gritty western Nigerian town. The story follows Saba (Tayo Faniran), a smuggler whose theft of a rare Ife bronze head ignites a violent chain of events, plunging the city into corruption and brutality.

Premiering at the NollywoodWeek Film Festival in Paris, the film marks a significant milestone for Egunjobi, signaling a deepening of his artistic voice.

The Fire and the Moth is a co-production between Nemsia Studios and Sable Productions, marking their second collaboration following A Green Fever. The film is directed by Taiwo Egunjobi, written by Isaac Ayodeji, with Fadamana Okwong as the director of photography, and produced by Emiola Fagbenle.

The film is set to premiere on Prime Video on May 16, 2025.
